New Delhi, India – Samsung’s next flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, has surfaced in a series of leaked CAD-based renders, providing our clearest look yet at the upcoming device. In collaboration with UK-based publication Smartphone Checker, renowned leaker Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) has revealed that the next-generation tablet will stick closely to its predecessor's design language, potentially disappointing those hoping for a significant aesthetic overhaul.
A "Familiar" Look
The renders confirm that Samsung is retaining the design established with the Tab S11 Ultra. The most notable—and perhaps controversial—feature is the semi-circular notch on the front display, which continues to house the front-facing camera. Despite rumors suggesting a transition to a cleaner hole-punch or under-display solution, the notch remains a core element of the Tab S12 Ultra’s frontal aesthetic.
The tablet maintains its ultra-slim profile with dimensions of 326.34 x 208.46 x 5.12mm, mirroring the Tab S11 Ultra exactly. The rear configuration also appears unchanged, featuring a dual-camera setup with individual lens rings and an LED flash, alongside the signature magnetic S Pen charging strip and three-pin pogo connector for accessory integration.
Performance and Expected Specifications
While the exterior may be familiar, the internal hardware is set for a generational leap. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. This 3nm flagship processor is expected to offer significant improvements in GPU and NPU performance over the previous generation, targeting power users, creatives, and multitasking professionals.
The device is expected to run Android 17-based One UI 9.0 out of the box, promising a long-term commitment to software updates.
Market Context and Launch
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has recently been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database, signaling that an India launch is imminent following the global release. While Samsung has not provided an official date, industry patterns—coupled with the Tab S11 Ultra's debut last year—strongly suggest a September 2026 launch window.
The Tab S12 series is expected to focus on the Plus and Ultra models, with some reports suggesting Samsung may skip a standard base model entirely this year. As Samsung navigates a competitive tablet market, the Tab S12 Ultra appears to be positioning itself as a steady, performance-driven evolution rather than a radical redesign.
